AR across a whole region: Festival of Regions

Festival of Regions, Salzkammergut

The Festival of Regions 2021 spread augmented artworks across Bad Ischl, Obertraun and the Salzkammergut. Fifteen posters from past festival editions were reinterpreted by contemporary artists in AR, postcards carried animations about the effects of climate change on the region, and a 15 metre wide AR artwork was placed on a mountain top. One of Austria's most respected contemporary art festivals, with the AR layer spread over a whole landscape instead of one venue.

Outcome: 15 reinterpreted festival posters, AR postcards on climate change, and a 15 metre wide artwork on a mountain top.

How a case like this gets made
  1. Pick what people will point their phone at: a painting, poster, pack, page or wall.
  2. Add the digital layer in the Artivive editor. Video, image, 3D model, sound. No code.
  3. Publish. Visitors open it in the free app or through a WebAR link, and enterprise campaigns run fully white label, under your own brand.
